Winter Coats on Sale

Typical names among winter coats on sale in Canada: Columbia with its Omni-Heat lined parkas and 3-in-1 Interchange jackets, The North Face (Nuptse, McMurdo, Arctic Parka), the Canadian heritage brand Roots, Carhartt's duck-canvas work jackets and parkas, and wool-blend and down coats from Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger.

Compare warmth by fill, not bulk. Down is rated by fill power – around 550 is decent, 700 and above is premium and lighter for the same warmth – while synthetic insulation keeps working when wet. For wet coastal winters, a waterproof, seam-sealed shell matters more than extra fill; for prairie cold, look for length below the hip, an insulated hood and a wind-blocking outer. A wool coat looks sharp downtown but won't handle a -30 wind chill on its own.

Coat prices follow the thermometer. Prime Day in July brings off-season offers, Black Friday and Cyber Monday cut broadly just as demand rises, and Boxing Week and the January clearance tend to move the most stock as retailers turn to spring. A model refresh also clears last year's colours.

Frequently reduced: fashion colours, less common sizes and 3-in-1 jackets. Seldom reduced before Christmas: best-selling black parkas in mid sizes. If you can buy early or late in the season, you'll usually see the widest choice of winter coats on sale.

The discount shown here is not our own math: it is the difference between today's price and the list price the retailer itself displays. If there is no list price, we show no percentage – better no discount than an invented one. The page updates automatically; prices are rechecked regularly, and anything that is no longer reduced disappears instead of lingering as an expired deal.

Salewunder is funded by affiliate links: if you buy through a link here, we earn a commission. It does not change your price, and what gets listed is decided by the discount, not the commission.
