Nintendo deals

Nintendo's Amazon.ca range centres on the Switch family. Hardware means the Switch 2 and the original Switch line – the standard Switch, the OLED model and the handheld-only Switch Lite – plus the bundles that pair a console with Mario Kart or another first-party title. Games are the bigger group: physical cartridges of the first-party catalogue such as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the Pokémon games, Kirby, Splatoon 3 and the Nintendo Switch Sports and Ring Fit Adventure fitness titles. Accessories fill out the list: Joy-Con pairs in various colours, the Pro Controller, Joy-Con charging grips, Nintendo-branded carrying cases, and the amiibo figures.

A few things to check. First-party Nintendo games are famous for holding their price, so a game that is genuinely reduced is uncommon and worth a closer look; the "Nintendo Selects" budget line is the exception. Make sure a game listing is the physical cartridge and not a download code, and that it is the Canadian or North American region version – Switch games are region-free, but codes are not. For consoles, check what is in the box: a bundle listing may include a game as a download code with an expiry date. Joy-Con and Pro Controllers are widely counterfeited, so buy from Amazon.ca or an authorized retailer to keep Nintendo's one-year warranty. Switch 2 accessories are not all backward-compatible with the original Switch, and the reverse is also true; the listing should state compatibility.

Nintendo reductions appear around Prime Day in July, Black Friday and Cyber Monday and Boxing Week, and during the retailer-wide game sales that follow. Console bundles are reduced when a new model or a new bundle replaces them.

Frequently reduced: third-party games, older accessories, Joy-Con colours that are being retired, amiibo and the original Switch hardware since the Switch 2 launch. Rarely reduced: current first-party games in their first year, the Switch 2 console itself and the Pro Controller at full price.

The discount shown here is not our own math: it is the difference between today's price and the list price the retailer itself displays. If there is no list price, we show no percentage – better no discount than an invented one. The page updates automatically; prices are rechecked regularly, and anything that is no longer reduced disappears instead of lingering as an expired deal.

Salewunder is funded by affiliate links: if you buy through a link here, we earn a commission. It does not change your price, and what gets listed is decided by the discount, not the commission.
