Columbia deals

Columbia's assortment here is outdoor apparel and footwear: insulated and waterproof jackets, fleece pullovers, rain shells, hiking and walking boots and shoes, convertible and quick-dry trousers, long-sleeve sun shirts, plus hats, gloves and packs. The share of that which is genuinely reduced changes week by week, so this page reflects only what is on offer at the moment.

The most useful skill with Columbia is reading the Omni names, because they tell you exactly what a garment does. Omni-Tech is the waterproof breathable membrane, Omni-Shield is a lighter water-repellent finish, Omni-Heat is the reflective lining that traps warmth, Omni-Wick moves moisture, and Omni-Shade is sun protection. Two jackets with the same model name at different prices usually differ in which of these they carry — so compare the tech labels rather than the pictures.

With inverted seasons, the insulated jackets and boots see their deepest cuts at the tail of the Australian winter, roughly August into September, and again over the Boxing Day and January clearance. Sun shirts, quick-dry trousers and hiking footwear behave differently: they discount more readily around Amazon's Prime Day in July and its October event, ahead of the summer walking season.

What actually gets reduced tends to be past-season colourways, jackets superseded by a new version of the same model, and less common sizes in a run. Core black and neutral shells, and the best-selling boot in standard widths, are the least likely to be marked down.

The discount shown here is not our own math: it is the difference between today's price and the list price the retailer itself displays. If there is no list price, we show no percentage – better no discount than an invented one. The page updates automatically; prices are rechecked regularly, and anything that is no longer reduced disappears instead of lingering as an expired deal.

Salewunder is funded by affiliate links: if you buy through a link here, we earn a commission. It does not change your price, and what gets listed is decided by the discount, not the commission.
