The habit that separates a smart beauty buyer from everyone else is looking at the unit price. A "value size" or a jumbo pump is only a deal if the price per ounce is actually lower than the standard bottle, and a marked-down travel size is often still the most expensive way to buy a product. Do the division before you add to cart. And for anything you use daily, a reduction on the large size beats a reduction on the small one even when the percentage looks smaller.
On the US calendar, beauty moves in three windows. Prime Day in July and Amazon's October event both lean heavily on skincare and haircare, and they are the moment the prestige brands allow real reductions on their hero products. Black Friday and Cyber Monday bring the holiday sets and gift-with-purchase bundles. The post-Christmas clearance in January is when those same sets get cut properly.
What tends to be reduced: limited-edition shades and holiday packaging, sets built for gifting, and formulas being replaced by a reformulated version. Sunscreen gets cleared at the end of summer. What rarely does: a brand's single best-selling serum in its standard size, outside of those event windows.
