Be clear about what Versace means on Amazon.com: it is mostly fragrance, sunglasses and a few accessories, not the runway clothing. The perfumes are the bulk of it, with Bright Crystal, Eros, Dylan Blue, Pour Homme, Versace Man Eau Fraiche and Crystal Noir among the most listed, in several bottle sizes and gift sets. Sunglasses and eyeglass frames come next, followed by watches and the occasional belt, wallet or scarf. Ready-to-wear and shoes appear only sporadically, and usually through marketplace sellers.

Buying tips: fragrance is where prices vary the most, and the bottle size explains most of it, so make sure the marked-down card is the size you compare against. Sold-by matters with designer perfume: Amazon itself and established fragrance retailers are the safer choice, and a price that is dramatically below everyone else is a reason for caution, not celebration. For sunglasses, check the model number in the listing against Versace's own catalog, and note that lens color and frame size versions of one model are priced separately. Watches sold through marketplace sellers should be checked for the seller's return policy before you order.

Timing: Prime Day in July usually brings some fragrance reductions, but the strongest period is the holiday run-up from Black Friday and Cyber Monday through to Christmas, when gift sets are heavily promoted. Around Valentine's Day and Father's Day in June there are smaller waves. Sunglasses are reduced most at the end of summer.

What gets reduced: larger bottle sizes, gift sets and older sunglass models are the most common reductions. Small travel-size bottles and the newest fragrance launches are rarely marked down, and clothing or shoes at a genuine discount is unusual enough on Amazon that it deserves a second look at the seller.
